Visit U.S. National Monuments

A proclamation from the President of the United States is required for a place to be named as a National Monument. Unlike National Park that is solely managed by the National Park Service, the National Monument can be managed by different federal agencies.

And what’s the oldest National Monument? It is the Devils Tower in Wyoming, established in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt.
