The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park is a historic site located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. The park is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was a prominent civil rights leader and advocate for nonviolent social change in the United States. The park includes several important sites associated with Dr. King, including his birthplace, childhood home, and the Ebenezer Baptist Church where he and his father both served as pastors.
The Martin Luther King National Historical Park is located a just walking distance from the World of Coca-Cola Museum and the Centennial Olympic Park, the historical park features a museum, a rose garden, and the King Center where you could see the final resting place of Dr. King and his wife, Coretta Scott King. Visitors to the park can pay their respects at the tomb and reflect on the legacy of Dr. King.
Inside the museum, there’s an exhibit entitled “Courage To Lead” that follows the parallel paths of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Civil Rights Movement.
A reflecting pool surrounds the tomb of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. There’s also an eternal flame opposite the grave site that symbolizes the continuing efforts to realize Dr King’s dream of justice, peace, and equality for all.
