The George Rogers Clark Falls is situated inside the 250-acre George Rogers Clark Park in Springfield, Ohio. The waterfall is about 15 feet high. And from its foot where I stood, I estimate the crest to be 20 to 25 feet. I have read online that the waterfall is seasonal. I visited in June and the flow was good enough to produce the beautiful constant drippings, as water descends from the boulders and unto a pool that formed at its rocky base.

Unlike other small waterfalls, this one is much gentler. You can put your hand under the falling water without feeling beaten by the strong force of stream hitting you.

The hike from the parking lot to the waterfall was easy, it took about 10 minutes. What was hard was finding the trail that would bring me to the waterfall. As there was no one to ask for a direction, I had to drive slow and stop at every sign I could see. I finally saw a sign “Tecumseh Trail”, stopped, and checked. I rechecked my exact location from my mobile map and then hoped that the trail was the right one.

After few minutes of walking, I heard the whooshing of the falls. When I finally caught the first sight of the falls, the feeling was glorious.

I spent a good 20 minutes at the falls, just loving every bit of the scenery.

Where is it located?

Drive to the George Rogers Clark Park. Directions from Google will bring you to the park’s entrance:

930 S Tecumseh Rd, Springfield, OH 45506
Here’s the link for directions.

Once you arrived at the entrance, continue straight. Park where the red circle is. Then find the sign that says “Tecumseh Trail”. There is a section where the trail diverts, here you need to turn left. Continue walking until you reach the wooden foot bridge. The falls is located on the left side of the bridge.

What is the best time to visit?

Spring or early summer. Since this waterfall is seasonal, you may want to avoid long hot summer days. You don’t want to go there and not see a single drop of water.

Is it kid-friendly?

It is a kid-friendly location. The trail is easy to moderate.
