Ruggedly beautiful – that’s how I call the Temple of Tolerance in Wapakoneta, Ohio. The owner, Jim Bowsher, started building this on his backyard in 1981. Its purpose is to help troubled kids find peace and keep them from ending behind bars.

What is this exactly? It’s a collection of items from boulders to old treasures to a maze of rock sculptures to wrought iron fences to themed houses.

Jim keeps on adding new items so it may not be truly completed. It’s free to the public!

Where to find it?

The exact address of the Temple of Tolerance is:

Where to park?

Park on the roadside. I visited on a Saturday and finding a parking spot was easy. In fact, I parked right in front of the Temple of Tolerance.

Where is the entrance?

If you are facing the building/house, the entrance is on your right. There is a small gate on the side that would lead you to the backyard where the Temple of Tolerance is located. There is no entrance fee.
