If you happen to be near Hocking County in Ohio, don’t miss to visit the Lake Logan State Park. Apart from the fact that is near Hocking Hills State Park, the park itself is a beautiful tourist spot that boast a breathtaking scenery. I have visited the the park for only a day, but I wished I could have stayed longer. If you want to just sit by the lake, relax for awhile, and enjoy nature, this is the place for you.

Lake Logan State Park

There are many things you can do for recreation when visiting the Lake Logan State Park.

  1. Boating – The park’s 400-acre lake offers limitless fun for boating. Rent your boat tie-ups at the park office. There are also boat docks available for rental.
  2. Fishing – Catch some bluegill, crappie, bass, muskie, catfish, northern pike and saugeye. Just keep your valid Ohio fishing license with you.
  3. Hunting – During hunting season, get your Ohio hunting license ready and hunt for fox, squirrel, raccoon, rabbit, deer, waterfowl, turkey and ruffed grouse.
  4. Swimming – The public swimming beach is located on the north shore of the lake. Swimming is only permitted during daytime.
  5. Picnic – Around the lake are six picnic areas with drinking water, grills and restrooms.
  6. Trail hiking – There’s the shorter Pine Vista Hiking Trail, the longer Buckeye Trail and so many more!
