How would you describe a park like the Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve in one word? Well, it is really hard to pick a word for this park in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Saying that it is beautiful is an understatement. If you enter from Jackson Street near U.S. 343, you would immediately be awed by the deep gorges and the strong water current that flows through narrow channels. You would hear the sound of the water from the parking lot!
The 2-mile trail that follows the Little Miami State and National Scenic River is well-marked and easy to follow. Along the trail are gorgeous views of the water, abundance of wildlife, little waterfalls, and amazing rock formations.
I have visited other nature reserves around Fairborn and Dayton Ohio, the Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve is the best of them all!
Whether you visit in winter or fall, it does not matter. This nature reserve offers breathtaking beauty all seasons.
