The Huffman Prairie Flying Field is one of Dayton Ohio’s Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. It is called the “First Airport” after the Wright brothers, Wilbur and Orville, used the field in 1904 and 1905 to master the principles of controlled, powered flight. It was in this field that they developed the world’s first practical airplane.
