The San Diego Zoo is not as big as the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska. It does not have eloborate exhibits like the ones at Albuquerque Biopark Zoo. However, the San Diego Zoo has the most unique zoo landscapes I have experienced so far. Following the long trail that loops around the 100-acres of wildlife sanctuary, visitors must go up and down the hills to see exhibits of over 3700 rare and endangered animals from over 650 species. So if you come with a baby stroller, be prepared to push it up some steep slopes.

You could finish the loop and see all of the exhibits in 2 to 3 hours. This includes all the stops for picture-taking. For those with little ones, you may need to spare more time as there are sections specifically made for kids.

There are plenty of food around, even along the trails. They are, of course, pricey. A small chili cheese dog is $9. But, you have the option to bring your food.
