Las Cruces, New Mexico has a number of good restaurants that serve authentic Mexican food. One of them is the El Sombrero Patio Cafe in Espina St. Unlike other restaurants in the city, the El Sombrero Patio Cafe was quite small, with only few tables inside. In fact, we waited for 20 minutes to get seated as it was packed when we arrived. The waiting area was not big either.

If you intend to visit and eat, spare some time for the waiting. Also, you may want to consider coming early as the small parking lot could get full at peak hours.

Food prices was average.  A traditional fajita was about $12.

Service was not at par with other restaurants in the city, however. We were seated and was never given a server. We had to call their attention before they realized that we had waited too long for them to take our orders.
