Alright, I was exaggerating when I said that I took the most beautiful photos of the Statue of Liberty. Anyone who had been to the monument at Liberty Island would have said the same.
The statue, in whichever angle you view it, was a sight to behold.
Departing from Battery Park, visitors went straight up to the top level of the ferry to get a good view of the city and the monument.
The Freedom Tower is soaring the Manhattan skyline.
Few minutes after departing, the skyscrapers in New York City became evident.
Ferry after ferry crisscrossed the bay.
Behold, the first closer look at Liberty! And the visitors became excited.
Look at all the people in the island!
Here’s a much closer look.
The ferry had to go around the monument to the docking area behind it.
A view of the Statue of Liberty before docking.
While we just arrived in the island, other visitors were already waiting for their ride back to the mainland.
Hello there, Lady Liberty.
The view of NYC from the island was even more amazing.
I took my time to enjoy the view.
When I left the island, I took the last shot. This time, it was the sun setting on the horizon.

Operating hours.
Liberty Island is open every day except December 25. The first ferry usually departs at 9AM from the mainland then the last ferry will depart Liberty island at 5PM. Liberty Island begins closing 30 minutes prior to the final departure.
Important notes.
– Before departing from the mainland, you will have to pass through tight security. If you are a tourist with a big luggage, you may want to find a place to store it somewhere, otherwise security officers may not allow you to board the ferry.
– Wait times to board any ferry can be over 90 minutes during peak months (April to September) and holidays.
– No pets are allowed in the island.
– There is a museum at the foot of the statue. Do not miss to visit it.
– Once in the island you may need at least two hours to roam around and check out the museum. If you intend to climb up the pedestal and crown, then you may need at least half a day.
