So where is the oldest house in the U.S. located at? It is in the northern part of New Mexico, in the historic Santa Fe.
The Historic Santa Fe Foundation “finds the oldest house worthy of preservation” — says the sign posted on the exterior wall of the house.
The adobe structure dates back to the early 1600’s.
This is a very small place just right beside the oldest church in America, the San Miguel Mission.
A small room holds some artifacts from another time.
It was nice to see the house in my own eyes, with its earthly smell and eerie feeling once inside.
The house is now partly a museum and a gift shop.
Do you wanna read the story of oldest American house?
This old house is only a 10-minute walk from the plaza. Sure, it is worth a stop for a 5-minute photo op!
