I never felt sadder seeing animals in the zoo than when I was in Alameda Park Zoo in Alamogordo, New Mexico. I visited the place after reading some comments online about the varieties of animal species in it. Others wrote that it is their “favorite zoo in the world!”
I should have not believed what I read online.
When I saw the sad-looking state of the animals, I wished right then and there that the animals be transferred somewhere where they will be taken cared of.
Small cages. So small a place that it will take less than 30 minutes to complete the cage trail.
Not counting the ducks, the fishes, and the birds flying, there are only 20 (or even less) animals in total! In some cages, you will not see anything. Not a single species of animal moving. The animals might have been tired of people looking at them that they hide in rocks or bushes. Thank goodness, it only takes $2.50 to enter.
The only positive side of this place is the area for kids to play. So if you decide to visit, go with your kids.
Do not expect to see the wolf!
