Philippine Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr delivered his privilege speech on Monday, June 9th in a manner that is reminiscent of his various roles in TV series and movies. He delivered a 40-minute speech with no sense and full of drama. He even showed a music video of his new song entitled “Salamat Mga Kaibigan (Thank You Friends).”

Sen. Revilla, along with senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada, are facing plunder charges for their alleged involvement in the multibillion-peso Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) scam. According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the three senators and few others behind the pork barrel scam, stockpiled a combined total of P581 million in kickbacks from 2004 to 2012. In Revilla’s case, the Ombudsman said he collected P224.512 million from 2006 to 2010.
