They are not the best museums I’ve been to in Washington, D.C., but the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, National Museum of African Art, Freer Gallery of Art, and the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery are all still worth seeing.
Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden
If you love modern art, then the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden is the place to go. Not as vast as the other museums on the National Mall, but you get a good dose of very creative film art. The building has a unique circular layout and beautifully simplistic.

National Museum of African Art
The National Museum of African Art promotes cross-cultural understanding in the social sciences and arts. The museum houses a variety of art, paintings, sculptures, and art history. Although there was hardly anyone there during my visit, it is definitely worth a visit, especially for those interested in looking a cultural work that has had a broad influence on African American, and American society in general.

The two Smithsonian galleries contain the largest Asian art research library in the U.S. Each Asian culture has a particular room, and the rooms are very well designed, modern, and informative. Exhibits vary from sculptures to ceramics to jewelry to paintings, and more.
