I went with my friend to Burger King (located in Brookings, South Dakota) for a quick lunch today. I ordered a “Whopper Sandwich” meal, and my friend had the same order plus a “Dutch Apple Pie”. Surprise, surprise what my friend got as an unwelcome bonus on his pie — a patch of grayish mold!
Disgusting!
The “Dutch Apple Pie” may have been stored for quite sometime and no one in Burger King ever cared to check and throw it away. Fact: A moldy pie isn’t just fit for human consumption. Period!
I took photos to prove that I am not making this up!
“Hello, my name is mold. I am here to make you sick.”
I searched online for other similar complaints and saw this posted in a forum dated October 29, 2011:
I just went to a local Burger King and made a purchase. One of the items I ordered was their dutch apple pie. After eating my meal, I opened the pie, only to find mold! I have called the local Burger King in Haltom City, TX 5 times and allowed the phone to ring for about 4 minutes each time.
Whoever is in-charge in the Burger King in Brookings, SD should know that molds in food could risk customers of becoming ill.
After my friend complained of the molds, he was given a new “Dutch Apple Pie” and refunded of the cost of the pie. But, still, Burger King should be served with a health code violation!
You need to inform your State health department about this.
This is one of the reasons why I avoid eating in fast food restaurants. You will never know what they feed you!
