The South Dakota road conditions right now (Monday, Feb 21, 9.30am/c) are nothing but normal to me. Alright, a winter storm warning was issued yesterday and the roads are currently covered with thick snow, but what else is surprising about South Dakota? It has always been like this, as far as I can recall in all the years I have lived in this central State.
For the faint-hearted drivers, stay home (it is Presidents Day and you have a reason to stay inside). If there is a real need to go out and drive today, be careful. Yesterday, I have seen vehicles stuck in intersections. According to the latest report, Interstate 90 has been opened while I-29 between Sioux Falls and the North Dakota border remains closed. No travel is advised on many highways in northeast South Dakota.
I won’t expect the winter storm to be away any sooner. So let me turn the TV on and waste the day for some movie marathons.
